Teli lies in the middle of Dogon Land at the foot of the 150 km-long Falaise de Bandiagara. There’s no electricity in the village. But some inhabitants have solar panels with which they can charge auto-batteries and transform the village square into a disco – like, for example, on the evening before the big celebration of their nation’s 51st anniversary of independence.
