HOIO – enterprise

HOIO (founded in 2001) is the first Import-Company for products from the fictitious island of Santa Lemusa. Due to its singular situation in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, this island offers a great variety of different landscapes – rocky cliffs and smooth beaches, dense forests and barren mountain areas, marshy bays and lush plains. This richness of the landscape has also a deep influence on the culinary products of the island – primarily the spices, all of which have their very own flavor and usually also a very special story behind. HOIO tries to make accessible some of the lemusan scents – and some of the islands stories – for those who can not regularly travel to Santa Lemusa. On the website of HOIO (www.hoio.ch), which is currently looked after by a six members editorial team, you can find information about a variety of culinary ingredients (of course especially on the imported spices to Europe), recipes, a short profile of the island, a abbreviation of its history and the description of some of HOIO's projects.

HOIO !!!  That is also the greeting of the Lemusan. Those who go wandering through the fictitious island of Santa Lemusa, which lies 44° West, 33° North in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, are welcomed by the islanders with the wonderful hail: HOIO !!!
