Puerto Williams

Scene 13

While the rabbit stewed in the pan, Maille relished a glass of Sauvignon on the verandah of his hut. The skies were clouded over and, now and then, some drops of rain sprinkled down on the wood. But all of sudden the clouds parted and the evening sun shone through, casting horizontal beams of sunlight on the bay. Between the black of the mountains and the dark grey of the canals, the riparian strip looked as though it was bathing in the light of a divine ascension from the earth.
