Recipes from the Chief cook of «PS Narina»

When evening draws near and the «PS Narina» crew begins to picture it dinner in all possible facets, the chef dips his angle or little fishing net into the deep. Hunger, desire and skill demand for the right type of fish to be brought to the chopping board of the chef, who has the right recipe for every type of meat that might materialise.

Some fish hold their own fine aroma and it’s best to prepare such fish in a plain and simple manner and to avoid using spicy ingredients. So it is. However, when there’s just fish on the kitchen board day after day, one is allowed to play around a little bit with its aroma. The HOIO website provides a compilation of 44 little portraits (in German only), each of which highlights the particular flavour of the meat of the fish portrayed.

The descriptions in the «PS Narina» logbook are not detailed recipes in which every ingredient and step in the cooking process is explained. Rather, the little texts are a recount of what took place in the «PS Narina» galley with every fish that came on board. So, you would do well to read each recipe carefully before you decide to go shopping or start cooking. Pictures on the individual recipes can be found on the associated fish-pages, that one can easily discover following the link at the beginning of each recipe.
