Now, it was time for a short intermission. Odette pulled off Marie's silver ring from her toe and pulled on a deep golden one on which was embossed the figure of a lion's head, which looked a bit like a logo on a car bonnet. That she always received a toe-ring as a gift was a fact worth mulling over – but Odette was not given to thinking about such things. She stood up and went through the door of the aquarium.
