Monument Valley (Arizona)

Scene 12: 20'000 Leagues Under the Sea

How Hektor Maille asked himself if one could one day actually walk from Arizona to Santa Lemusa and how he instantly developed cold feet and dry lips at the very thought.

One Day in the Life of Odette Sissay

12.50: Port-Louis, Vieux Port, in front of the Aquarium

Naturally, Tatjana had no idea that for Odette it was more than a small joke. Odette had once worked as a cook for the Koslows, something that had been everything but a coincidence. Tatjana had admired the somewhat older Odette, above all because she was so adept at understanding her complicated father. Perhaps Tatjana was a bit in love with the older woman, in any case she had done everything in her means to forge an enduring friendship with Odette. That Odette had responded to her affections merely in order to find out how far the technique of tele-transportation had progressed was something Tatjana had never suspected. Naturally Odette had wished to send more than just algae around the world. She had something bigger in mind, considerably bigger. The algae experiment had showed the radius within which one could operate the small module – from the Caribbean to northern Europe, definitely.
